I would like to go on a little rant today... For a long time now, beer advertisements have been telling us what beer is, most notably Miller, Budweiser, and Coors. I suppose we are supposed to listen to them and believe everything they say is fact, right? Well, just like any advertising, we should take it for what it is and do our research before believing any of it. (0) comments
Both "The Da Vinci Code" and Dan Brown's third novel, also starring Harvard Symbologist Robert Langdon, have been turned into blockbuster movies. How in the world could Brown possibly hope to top that feat? His answer: "The Lost Symbol." The moment that this much anticipated sequel hit the shelves, everyone knew that it had a lot to live up to. Now, nearly five months later, the book has been out long enough to provide an objective view. (0) comments
"We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?" -Ray Bradbury, American writer and author of Fahrenheit 451 (0) comments

If Emerson is a transparent eyeball, able to see all things, then I am his retina, surfeited with input, clogged with truths and lies. And I lead nowhere: I am merely a tendril, a ganglion, a single nerve, connected only to the Eye and no more. Will I find an outlet Someday, or will I - like a dream deferred - explode? No: I will shrivel and become an empty husk of a grape, not fit to be pressed for wine or even to be called a raisin. (0) comments
Welcome to "The Talk" every body's favorite advice column which is not intended for parents, professors, campus administrators, or anyone who clings to the asinine notion that college students spend all their time going to class, studying, and innocently playing board games in their room. I answer real questions from real college students. No subject is off limits and I don't sugar-coat my responses for Mommy and Daddy. Sometimes you can't or don't want to talk to friends or relatives. In those cases, I can provide an objective third party to advise you on your situation. (0) comments

In honor of being able to pick up beer in the grocery store, I have chosen to review some of my favorite Texas Brews: Real Ale Brewing Company's Brewhouse Brown Ale, Bombshell Blonde Ale from Southern Star; , Rahr & Sons' Ugly Pug Black Lager, and Spoetzl Brewery's Bohemian Black Lager. In Texas Hold'em, it is important to remember that most of the time, most hands will not improve on the flop. In fact, the odds of making a pair or better on the flop are only 1 in 3. This is important to remember while playing. All those times you have a big hand, like Ace-King, and don't make a pair, you're not really getting unlucky, as it's happening to your opponents too. We can take advantage of this, and we do that with the continuation bet. (0) comments
