The University of Tulsa has made the decision to close campus on Friday due to inclement weather conditions. The university had previously announced a campus closure for Thursday starting at 2 p.m.

During this closure, classes are cancelled and university offices will be closed. Essential service personnel are asked to check with their supervisors about work schedules during this campus closure.

TU dining services will remain open for campus residents. The Twin Cafeteria will operate with regular hours, with the ACAC food court operating until 5 p.m. The Collins Fitness Center also is scheduled to remain open to serve student needs, but you are encouraged to call ahead at 631-2676 to see if the facility is operating with reduced hours.

McFarlin Library's computer labs are scheduled to remain open unless circumstances require closure. Please call the circulation desk at 631-2873 to check whether there are any changes to the operating schedule for either the library or the computer labs.

University officials will continue to monitor the weather conditions and will send out additional communications, as needed, in the following ways:

Notice on TU home page - www.utulsa.edu,
Social media - Twitter (twitter.com/utulsa) & Facebook (The University of Tulsa),
Local media school closure lists,
Email notification to all students and employees via TU email accounts,
and the TU emergency text messaging system.

If you have not signed up for the emergency text messaging service, you are encouraged to do so at your earliest opportunity. This number will only be used for official university announcements, including weather closures and campus emergencies. It will not be used for marketing purposes.

To register or for more information, click the Technology link at the top of the TU home page and you will find the Emergency Text Registration link under MyTU Essentials. The form is available directly at https://forms.utulsa.edu/emergencyphone/session/new

If it has been some time since you registered your cell number, you are encouraged to log in to the form to ensure that the university has your current cell phone number and your registration has not expired.

At all times, the University encourages faculty, staff and students to exercise caution when traveling to and from campus, especially when road conditions have deteriorated. Physical plant employees will begin clearing streets and sidewalks at soon as possible, but caution is urged when traveling on campus during icy conditions.

Additional information will be communicated as the situation requires.
